And the survey says...

One of the goals this year is to communicate potential benefits of a shift in our school calendar for 2013-14 and determine the level of support for such change.  I provided the board with an update regarding the online survey last night.  The paper survey is still out, but the online version closed last Saturday.  You can see the key slides I shared last night below.  It provides the results in the aggregate  as well as disaggregated views based on geography and the role of the survey participant.

I appreciate all the folks who took time (1800+) to share their thoughts and opinions on the online survey.  At this time I do not feel there is the needed support to make such a systemic change, and that's what I recommended to our board.  I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with so many groups about the issue, and I believe it got folks talking about how best to serve the children in our community.

The board also received public comments which totaled over 126 pages from the online survey.  Again, the goal is to inform our community and listen to ideas and suggestions.  Thanks to those who participated in this process.
